On 1 July 1941, the 502nd Parachute Infantry Battalion was activated at Fort Benning, GA.
This new unit was initially composed of two skeleton companies from the 501st. “The Deuce” jumped into Normandy, Market Garden, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Captain Frank Lillyman, an officer in charge of the regiment’s pathfinder platoon, was the first American jumper of the night – celebrated as the first American paratrooper to drop behind German lines in the Allied invasion of Normandy.
The Windowmaker design is remastered to pay homage to the tough men that originally wore it.
